The season came to an abrupt end for EMU's basketball women Friday afternoon, as the Royals couldn't overcome cold shooting in a 71-58 loss to Randolph-Macon in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals.

A huge fourth-period surge was not enough for EMU's women, as they dropped an 89-85 loss at Lynchburg College to wrap up the regular season Saturday afternoon. The Royals had their eight-game winning streak snapped by LC, which earned the top seed in next week's ODAC Tournament with the decision.

In a battle of the ODAC's best bigs, EMU's guards made the difference in a 74-67 win at Randolph-Macon Tuesday night. The Royals push their winning streak to eight in a row, their longest since winning 11 straight late in the 2014-15 season.

EMU's women seem to be playing their best basketball at the right time of year. Senior (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) pounded in 18 points with 13 rebounds to lead the Royals to a 76-55 thumping of Randolph College Saturday afternoon, extending the women's winning streak to seven in a row.

The Royals weren't about to allow a repeat of the third-period letdown they had against Bridgewater College three weeks ago. In that game, EMU watched as a 12-point lead in the third turned into an 84-74 loss to their rivals.

A big third period propelled EMU's basketball women to their fifth straight win, an 87-72 decision at Roanoke College on Saturday. The 87 points were a season high for the Royals in an ODAC game, and their second straight outing breaking 80 points.

As if scoring 21 points in the first half wasn't enough, junior (Freeman, Va./Brunswick) decided to do her best Stephen Curry impersonation late in the third, bombing in her third three pointer from a few feet behind the arc. EMU's guard finished with a career high 30 points as the Royals earned an emphatic 83-55 win over Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday night in Harrisonburg.
