The Old Dominion Athletic Conference named 14 EMU student-athletes to the 2016-17 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in their respective sports.

Signifying the end of one career and the beginning of another, EMU had two softball women named All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).

The Royals are heading into the postseason on a big note after earning a split at No. 9 Messiah College on Wednesday. The non-conference decision puts the softball women at 22-14 as they enter a nine-day lull in the schedule before the ODAC Tournament starts on April 28.

EMU softball suffered a disappointing doubleheader loss to visiting McDaniel College Thursday afternoon. The Royals drop to 21-11 overall with their first non-conference losses of the season. Eastern Mennonite heads to Roanoke College on Saturday for their final ODAC games of the season. The Royals are 9-9 in the conference, while Roanoke is 9-7 with a doubleheader remaining against No. 20 Randolph-Macon.
