Eastern Mennonite junior 聽(North Chesterfield, Va./Thomas Dale) has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week. Earning the national award comes on the heels of Ragland being named the Continental Volleyball Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season.

EMU's volleyball men, ranked No. 9 in this week's AVCA national poll, took down No. 15 Juniata by a final of 3-1 in Yoder Arena, as the Royals kept pace with No. 11 Marymount atop the CVC standings

EMU's volleyball men earned a split in Saturday's tri-match against D-II teams, including a sweep of Alderson Broaddus. The Royals also lost a back-and-forth five setter against host King University in the matches played in Bristol, Tenn.

EMU's volleyball men rebounded from a tough loss to CVC rival Marymount but romping over No. 5 New York University at Saturday's tri-match hosted by MU in Arlington, Va.

Ninth-ranked Eastern Mennonite was in firm control on Saturday, picking up a pair of wins to improve to 12-4 on the year. The Royals are also 5-0 in the Continental Volleyball Conference, and stand alone in first place in the CVC after the weekend's results.

EMU volleyball's men now have their second three-match winning streak of the season after a 3-0 sweep of CVC opponent Thiel Saturday morning in Greenville, Pa. The No. 10 Royals improve to 9-4 overall and 3-0 in the CVC.

The buildup was as good as the game itself in this one. A day after moving up to No. 10 in the AVCA National Poll, the Eastern Mennonite volleyball men took down 2016 CVC champion Stevenson University in a five-set thriller. The Royals racked up 22.5 blocks on the night as they beat SU for the first time since 2011.
