Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Leymah Gbowee MA 鈥�07, founder and president of Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, has been selected by Melinda French Gates to receive a $20 million grant to support women鈥檚 health and well-being around the world. The Liberian peace activist, trained social worker and women鈥檚 rights advocate earned a聽master鈥檚 degree in conflict transformation聽from EMU鈥檚聽Center for Justice and Peacebuilding聽(CJP). She was awarded EMU鈥檚聽first honorary doctorate in 2018 and gave the commencement address that year (pictured) as well.聽
