Previously he served as Pastor of Mission at Kern Road Mennonite Church in South Bend, Indiana for sixteen years, and through Mennonite Central Committee engaged in peace witness among US GIs stationed in Germany. He and his wife Cathy and their children live as intentional neighbors with four other households in the near northwest neighborhood of South Bend, IN.
