Michael Shank, Ph.D., is Head of Communications for the UN聽聽in New York City, where he handles聽communications for Professor聽聽and SDSN鈥檚 work on the United Nations鈥櫬�. Michael鈥檚 recent positions include serving as Director of Media Strategy at聽, Associate Director for Legislative Affairs at the聽, and US Congressman Michael Honda鈥檚 Senior Policy Advisor and Communications Director. Michael鈥檚 Ph.D. from George Mason University鈥檚 School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution is on Climate Conflict.
Michael is Adjunct Assistant Professor at New York University鈥檚聽, where he teaches graduate courses on Sustainable Development, Power and Politics and Climate and Security. Shank is also Adjunct Faculty and a Board Member at George Mason University鈥檚聽, where he teaches graduate courses on communications and conflict, and Senior Fellow at the聽.
