I want to train and deploy young college graduates who will animate sustainable community development using a participatory, gender-sensitive human rights-based approach to development and peace. Any body who thinks this is a good idea should please contactt me.

I am pleased to read of this announcement. The Peace Corps is a life-changing experience. I was a Peace Corps volunteer in Ethiopia from 1972-1974. I worked with the W.H.O. Smallpox Eradication Program vaccinating thousands of men, women, and children in the remote countryside. I saw some of the last cases of smallpox in the world. It was a challenging and exciting adventure with learning Amharic, working within a very different culture, and surviving in the tenth poorest country in the world at that time. Ethiopia was a country experiencing famine and threatening political revolution in the streets. I have encouraged students throughout my university teaching career to consider the Peace Corps. In 2021, with a budget of over $400 million, the Peace Corps is again going strong. Tom Syre, Sr., former EMU graduate writing consultant, 2019-2021.
