Congratulations, Ken!
In a few months I’m sure you’ll wonder how you ever had time to work.
I’ve been out of the teaching business since May 13, 2015 – the day after my 71st.
Been busy as a one-armed paperhanger since. When people know you’re retired, you’ll soon get all kinds of requests for things to do in your “spare” time. Soon, there ain’t no such thing.

I worked with Ken for nine years and always had an appreciation for his leadership style. He hired good people and then let them do their jobs. Ken would make suggestions when appropriate but seldom overruled. He also was a great listener. When you went into his office you always left like he had time for you and that he would take what you had to say seriously. You knew he was the boss but in many ways he treated his staff as equals. Ken was able to see the larger picture and when difficult decisions had to be made he always had the best interests of the students at heart.

I wish Ken the best and I will miss seeing him on the EMU campus.
