Kudos to you, Heidi and all, for building this powerful relationship between theater and social justice at EMU. And for getting grants to do it! I used playback theater in my EMU Acting classes back in the late 90’s and early 2000’s and we called it “Peace Theater.” I was amazed by how organic, effective and personally transformative the practice was my students—and me. I’m thrilled to see this development in EMU’s theater program. All the best!

This is wonderful news! When Florina and I brought Playback theatre to EMU in 2003, we dreamt of a playback theatre team in EMU. I know the difficulties in putting this together, it is all the more difficult to convert it into a project and get grants. Kudos to the team that made it possible.
