I met Frabrice at the Coming of the Table National Gathering at EMU where his presence added so much to the conversation. His rapt personal attention to whomever he encountered demonstrated his curiosity, his openness to learn from others, and his ability to listen. Fabrice, you will bring so much to the field of restorative justice and this honor is just the beginning. I wish send you many blessings as you participate in this international program. And what a tribute, too, to EMU ‘s commitment towards conflict resolution and social justice!

Can’t say I am surprised but certainly pleased to have been a part of your time on campus. FYI, Fabrice is a member of Inside Out Playback Theatre at EMU and has been most of his time at CJP. He has performed Playback Theatre with Cross-Cultural groups and CJP on campus, with Coming to the Table, with sexual abuse survivors in Pennsylvania and with incarcerated folks and international students at Lafayette College. Let’s celebrate all his great contributions to our community!!

You deserve it. Good luck in your research project. Your experience in Sierra Leone reminds me the time I have worked in Rwanda, ten years after the Genocide that occurred there. It was at the time of the Justice and Reconciliation process. The same willing of truth and forgiveness, through the traditional community courts system also named “Gacaca”, was one of the way the Rwandese chose to recover from the atrocity and make perpetrators and victims live together. This is how a lot of African societies act most of the time, because maintaining social links is essential for the survival of the community.
