I agree, great story! I never saw a story that bought so many of my interests into the same script – basketball, back issues, theater, pacifist/military issues, and more, all from my Alma Mater, EMU! Great story! I admire Hattie’s perseverance, and I’m so pleased that EMU has leaders like Luke Hartman who bring wonderful mentoring gifts to their roles. EMU students are blessed. Congrats to Hattie and her Class of ’14!

Although we have never met in person, I have watched this young lady grow from a Godly,talented, albeit, stubborn teen, into a beautiful woman of God!

I Have no doubt whatsoever, that Hattie will continue to make her mark in this world, long after graduation, in whatever God calls her to do. During her years playing basketball, undergoing the surgery, and tackling the recovery like a momma bear, her determination, her unwavering persistence to gain back all things physical, don’t even compare to how huge her heart is! Still, it is her love of God, support of a loving family, and love of her beloved USA, that will catapult her into greater things than even she can imagine! Hattie, you humble me.
