MaryBeth Heatwole Moore, RN, BSN, MDiv, serves as Seminary Chaplain, accompanying students in their journeys of faith and learning. She provides pastoral care, helps connect students with resources for academic and personal success, and supports community-building activities on campus and online. She also assists with seminary chapel services and spiritual formation gatherings. She serves as advisor to the Seminary Community Council, a student-led group that fosters care and connection within the seminary. MaryBeth aims to walk alongside the seminary community with presence, encouragement, and care, creating space for students to thrive in life and vocation.
MaryBeth is an ordained minister with Virginia Mennonite Conference (Mennonite Church USA) and a 2021 graduate of Eastern Mennonite Seminary (MDiv). She previously served as church planter and pastor of Signs of Life Fellowship in Staunton, VA, for twelve years. She is also a registered nurse and currently volunteers at the Blue Ridge Free Clinic. Passionate about contemplative practice, she leads imaginative scripture contemplation and teaches Mindful Self-Compassion meditation. MaryBeth and her husband, Chris, are members of Immanuel Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg and have two young adult sons.
